A Look Back at April and What’s Ahead: May Blog at Reedsburg Country Club
April was a vibrant and energizing month at Reedsburg Country Club and 1924 Bar & Grill, marked by meaningful events, community connections, and the return of our golf season. As we embrace everything May has to offer, we’re pausing to reflect on last month’s highlights and provide a comprehensive May blog update on what’s happening at RCC.
This time of year is all about momentum — from reconnecting with our members to welcoming new guests, celebrating milestones, and offering events that bring people together. Our May blog is an opportunity to showcase the activity, growth, and heart that make Reedsburg Country Club a destination for many throughout the season.
April in Review: A Month of Milestones and Memories
April welcomed the arrival of spring with a packed calendar of exciting events and memorable moments. We hosted 10 private parties and banquets, helping families, friends, and local organizations celebrate a range of occasions, from birthdays to business milestones, in our spacious and welcoming event venue.
We also saw the return of two fan favorites: Tuesday Night Cornhole League and Thursday Night Pub Trivia. These weekly gatherings continue to bring fun, laughter, and camaraderie to our clubhouse, and they’ll carry on strong into the summer months.
Another standout moment occurred from April 2nd to 5th when we proudly hosted the Reedsburg Players Theater for four evenings of dinner and entertainment. With our dining room transformed into a theater venue, guests enjoyed a unique night out filled with local talent, laughter, and applause.
On April 10, we officially opened our golf course for the season, offering members two exclusive days on the greens before it opens to the public on April 12. That same day, we were honored to support the Reedsburg Women’s Club by hosting their annual Father-Daughter Dance, which sold out and brought over 170 attendees to celebrate connection and family. Just over a week later, our Easter Brunch Buffet welcomed more than 130 guests for a beautiful spring meal.
Our commitment to the community continued with a heartfelt initiative on April 22 — RCC gave away 100 tickets to the Fireman’s Spaghetti Supper to members, staff, and their families as a way to give back and show support for a local cause. That spirit of generosity is at the heart of who we are, and it’s a proud part of this May blog reflection.
May Blog Spotlight: What’s Been Happening This Month
Now, let’s dive into what May has brought to RCC so far — and what’s still to come.
May kicked off with back-to-back excitement on Friday, May 3. In the evening, we hosted our Brushes & Bubbly Spring Paint Night, a creative and fun-filled event that allows guests to unwind, sip, and create beautiful spring art. Earlier that same day, we also celebrated the Kentucky Derby Watch Party, featuring specialty-themed drinks, Derby-inspired bites, a bourbon tasting, and our popular Bourbon Raffle. Both events were a hit and set the tone for a memorable month ahead.
Thursday night Pub Trivia has continued throughout May, drawing in new faces and regulars alike for fast-paced fun and brain-teasing entertainment. The energy each Thursday reminds us just how much our members love to gather, compete, and celebrate together.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to host our Annual Member Mixer and Meeting on May 18th at 2 PM. This event is a significant opportunity for members to hear updates, connect with RCC leadership, and enjoy a relaxed afternoon in good company.
May will wrap up with a strong finish as our Summer Live Music Series officially begins on May 31, featuring the talented Dave Miotke live on the patio from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. This marks the beginning of a summer-long tradition of live music under the open sky — a favorite among many RCC members and guests and a highlight of this May’s blog post.
Dining at 1924 Bar & Grill: What’s Cooking in May
At 1924 Bar & Grill, May has been packed with seasonal flavors and comfort food favorites. Our daily specials have kept guests coming back throughout the month:
- Tuesdays: Warm, flaky homemade pot pies
- Wednesdays: Half-roasted chicken with dumplings
- Thursdays: Flavorful taco selections
- Fridays: Our signature Wisconsin fish fry
- Saturdays: Surf & Turf — elevated and indulgent
A standout date on the culinary calendar is Mother’s Day Champagne & Brunch Buffet on Sunday, May 11, from 10 AM to 1 PM. This event is one of our most popular of the season, and reservations are required. The buffet menu is curated to celebrate the moms in our lives with a delicious, upscale experience.
RCC Golf & Pro Shop News: May Blog Highlights
This May blog wouldn’t be complete without a look at what’s happening on the golf side of the club.
We’re currently registering teams for our RCC Pro/Member Event on Sunday, June 1. This year brings exciting updates to the format and structure to make the day even more enjoyable. Additionally, our 2025 Fitting Days are scheduled to take place in May, offering professional club fittings from trusted brands like TaylorMade, XXIO, and others. This is an excellent opportunity for members and guests to try out new equipment and find the perfect fit ahead of the summer season.
May is also First Tee Donation Month at RCC. Members are encouraged to bring used golf clubs to the Pro Shop. These donations support local youth golf programs and are matched by the Carrig Foundation, helping us build the future of the game one club at a time.
Celebrating Community and Leadership at RCC
This month, we’re proud to highlight two incredible people making a difference at RCC.
Debbie Sidell, a Board Member since 1996, continues to serve on our operations and finance committees. Her multigenerational family involvement, particularly through the First Tee Program, embodies the values of stewardship, mentorship, and community.
On the staff side, we’re recognizing Colton Brenner, Bar & Grill Manager. Colton began his journey with RCC as a member and has since grown into a leadership role, demonstrating enthusiasm and professionalism. From coordinating events to managing daily operations, Colton brings both passion and purpose to his work — and it’s been clear throughout this May blog how much his efforts mean to the team and our guests.
Looking Ahead: A Sneak Peek at June
Even though this is a May blog, it’s hard not to be excited about what’s just around the corner.
