Our Golf Pro, Bob Feller, “Coach of the Year”

At Reedsburg Country Club, we pride ourselves on more than championship-level golf. We are a community rooted in mentorship, character development, and generational impact—and no one embodies that more than Bob Feller “Coach of the Year.”

In 2023, Bob was honored with the prestigious Coach of the Year award by The First Tee of South Central Wisconsin. This award recognizes an individual who has gone above and beyond to inspire and support young golfers through teaching, leadership, and unwavering commitment. We couldn’t be prouder to celebrate Bob’s well-deserved recognition and the legacy he continues to build within our RCC community.

Building a Program That Lasts

Eight years ago, RCC partnered with The First Tee of South Central Wisconsin to revitalize our youth golf programming. Backed by generous support from Don and Barbara Carrig and Doris Feller, the partnership aimed to provide accessible and inclusive golf instruction, focusing on character-building and life skills.

Bob Feller took the reins and turned vision into reality. Through his leadership, our youth golf program has grown to serve over 150 children annually, teaching them much more than just how to swing a club. He instills life lessons—discipline, honesty, perseverance, and sportsmanship—values that kids carry with them long after the course is over.

His efforts earned him the Bob Feller Coach of the Year title, a testament not just to his coaching skills but also to his impact on an entire generation.

Leading With Heart and Humility

What sets Bob apart isn’t just his knowledge of the game—it’s how he leads with heart. Every lesson, every drill, and every encouraging word is delivered with genuine care and attention. He takes the time to connect with each child, ensuring they feel seen, heard, and valued.

As Coach of the Year, Bob’s teaching philosophy goes well beyond golf mechanics. He’s helping kids develop confidence, form friendships, and believe in themselves. For many young players, he’s not just a coach—he’s a mentor, a role model, and a trusted friend.

A Community-Wide Effort

This recognition is also a celebration of the collective efforts at RCC. From members who volunteer their time to our Pro Shop staff to former program participants who now return to help mentor the next wave of junior golfers—a deeply committed team has fueled Bob’s success.

The Carrig Foundation continues to play a pivotal role in funding and supporting our junior programs. RCC’s inclusive environment encourages members of all ages to get involved, whether by cheering on young golfers, sponsoring events, or helping organize youth tournaments.

The Ripple Effect of Bob’s Impact

Because of Bob’s leadership, we now have a program that not only serves Reedsburg but draws families from surrounding communities who want their children to learn from someone who genuinely cares.

His work has laid the foundation for a youth program that is both sustainable and transformative. His influence extends beyond the game—he’s helping shape good people, not just good golfers.

Looking Ahead

As we celebrate our 100th year at Reedsburg Country Club, we are reminded that milestones like these are built on the shoulders of people like Bob Feller, who was named Coach of the Year. His dedication is a reflection of everything we value: mentorship, inclusivity, growth, and community.

We invite you to join us in honoring Bob and all the volunteers, donors, and team members who continue to make a difference in the lives of our youth. Whether you’re a golfer, parent, or supporter, there’s a place for you in this legacy.

Conclusion: More Than a Title

Bob Feller Coach of the Year is more than a title—it’s a symbol of heart, excellence, and purpose-driven service. His story is proof that one person can make a powerful impact, and at RCC, we are fortunate to call him one of our own.

We encourage you to share this story, celebrate Bob’s achievement, and help us grow the next generation of golfers and community leaders right here in Reedsburg.
